HearthQuest is a household chore, rewards, and arcade tracker. A parent or guardian sets up a household, adds the people in it, and the app keeps track of jobs, points, and rewards. This page describes what the app stores, who processes it, and how to get it removed.
The app does not use advertising identifiers, does not track location, does not access contacts, and includes no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
HearthQuest uses a small number of service providers to run. Each is listed with what it actually receives:
| Provider | What it receives |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Sign-in credentials and all household data, stored in Google Cloud |
| Netlify | Hosting and standard server request logs |
| Anthropic | Assistant messages, the household context needed to answer them, and any photo attached to a request |
| Resend | Email address and message content for account and setup emails |
| Stripe | Payment details, for purchases only. Card details never reach us. |
Photos and assistant messages are sent to Anthropic to produce a reply and are not stored by HearthQuest as a separate photo library. They are not used to train anyone’s models.
The people a household tracks are usually children, and their information is entered by a parent or guardian who is running the household. We ask parents to use first names or nicknames rather than full legal names, and the app never requires a child’s address, phone number, school, or photograph.
Children do not create their own accounts. A parent controls the household, and a parent can view, correct, or delete any member’s information at any time from the parent screens, or by writing to us.
Household data is kept for as long as the household is in use, because the app’s whole purpose is the running history of streaks, points and rewards. When a household is deleted, its data is removed from the live database. Ordinary server and email delivery logs held by our providers age out on their own schedules.
Write to justin@jrandjules.com to see what we hold about your household, correct it, export it, or have it deleted. We will act on the request and confirm when it is done. Deleting the household is the fastest complete removal, and it cannot be undone.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Cloud through Firebase, where server-side database rules govern access. Parent-only screens are additionally gated by the household PIN. No system is perfect; if you believe a household has been accessed improperly, tell us at justin@jrandjules.com and we will investigate.
If what the app collects or who processes it changes, this page and the date at the top are updated. Material changes are also announced by email to household owners.
